Music therapy can be beneficial for a multitude of people such as those in aged care, people living with disability, early childhood and families, patients in hospital/health care settings and organisations assisting in community engagement.

Everybody has an innate musicality, from those who are professional musicians to those who just like to listen to their favourite band to improve their mood. The great thing about music therapy is that anybody can participate and potentially benefit, regardless of physical ability.

Some goals that music therapy can assist in are; communication, social, mood/emotional, behaviour & movement. A registered music therapist will conduct an assessment session initially, then plan and carry out a therapeutic program to work towards the established goals. Sessions can involve singing, dancing, improvisation, instrument exploration, listening, technology & even song-writing.
